Name: Watanabe Osamu
Age: 27
Affiliation: Brotherhood
Codename: Dragonfly
Themes:
Persona 3 - Mass Destruction -FESversion-
Digital Devil Saga- Hunting- Compulsion
History:
Watanabe Osamu was a mutant and he had nothing to hide. He was always very open about his mutant ability of flight, going so far as to float to wherever he needed to be regardless of whom was watching. It also helped that his long-standing girlfriend of five years was perfectly fine with his mutation, despite being a normal person herself. He also taught Economics at a high school that was surprisingly accepting of mutants. All in all, despite not having enough cash to actually marry his girlfriend, he was rather content with life and lived very comfortably compared to other, more unlucky mutants like his student, Shiraishi Kuranosuke, whom he took in after his disastrous first manifestation. However, such a comfortable life wouldn't last.
A teenage girl's body was found in his home city of Osaka and after some testing, officials had determined the poor girl died from poisoning. However, the type of poison used wasn't anything they had ever seen before, and it was suggested that a mutant had killed her, sparking a heated debate. While mildly interesting, none of this would have mattered much to Osamu if not for the appearance of huge, anti-mutant rallies that suddenly washed over Osaka. Fear and anger encompassed the large Osaka population and eventually, everything escalated into a huge, violent uproar in which known mutants were attacked. While Osamu was in the safe confines of his school, his girlfriend was not so lucky. Mutant-haters attacked his home, and she was beaten nearly to death, having been mistaken to be one of 'his kind.' She died shortly after in a hospital with a punctured lung and nearly every bone shattered to pieces. The care-free, laid-back Economics teacher was devastated.
With the death of his girlfriend, he sank into a depression, ignoring all in favor of staring into space. It also didn't help that due to pressure from concerned families and officials, he was fired from his teaching position, which only gave Osamu the whole of every day to brood. He just about sank to a suicidal level, but thanks to his own lack of courage and Shiraishi, it was completely avoided.
Slowly but surely, he recovered to nearly his former self, except for the resentment he still felt; anti-mutant lunatics had beaten his lover to death, and he found himself being alienated from all his friends. He watched as society grew more frightened and hateful of mutants, which culminated into the government-sponsored detainment of all registered and known mutants. With the help of a Brotherhood factions stationed in Osaka, he and Shiraishi were able to avoid detainment. Irritated beyond belief by the Norms’ irrational stupidity, Osamu joined the ranks of the Brotherhood.
Powers:
Osamu basically has the power of gravity-manipulation, but he doesn’t quite know this. The only thing he really knows is that he can float and fly, which leads him to believe he just has the power of flight. He can control the speed at which he can fly, which can vary from floating in place to propelling himself forward to nearly the speed of sound. Flying at such speeds in an uninterrupted manner, however, does not affect him negatively because his body is adjusted for flight: his skin and bones are stronger than normal which means his skin won’t rip off and his skull won’t collapse in on itself. He also has a third, clear eyelid, much like a crocodile’s, in order to protect his eyes during flight.
He can also carry any object, no matter how heavy it is, during flight since gravity is already being manipulated around him. If he’s not flying, he can only carry what his muscle strength allows, since he doesn’t actually know he can control gravity.
If he realizes he can manipulate gravity as well, he would be able to carry an object of any weight whether is he flying or not. He would also be able to manipulate the force of gravity on other objects, either levitating or crushing them if they are within a 10 foot range.
Tidbits:
※ his girlfriend's name was Akemi
※ brought to Tokyo a sotoba (small wooden board put next to the grave) with his girlfriend's name written on it
※ has a small shrine for her inside his apartment
※ smokes when he can, but otherwise, he's got a toothpick in his mouth to keep himself happy
※ full Australian born and raised in Japan
※ doesn't know a lick of English

He knew he shouldn’t be doing this right in the middle of a public area, but you know what? Fuck that. It was amazing how all these people used to just ignore him, their own lives much more important than his. But now as he floated past, his toes just a few inches from the ground, they all stared as if he’d just grown an extra head, particularly one woman who was actually gawking. Osamu smirked to himself as he hovered past, making it a point to turn and dip his head in acknowledgment of her presence, as if she was an old acquaintance. Hands in his pockets, he bit down on his toothpick to resist laughing at the woman’s expense as she gasped and hurriedly assured everyone and everything around her that She Didn’t Know That Mutant!
But the smirk faded as he approached the grayed out area, a graveyard nearly filled to the brim with small tombstones. He elevated himself just enough to make it past the wall, and he hovered back toward the ground, though his bare feet still refused to touch it. Soon, he was in front of a smaller stone, her name written on a small strip of wood.
He stared at her name for a long moment before he smiled and even laughed— he couldn’t feel all that sad for some reason. “Hey, Love. Look what I brought ya.” And he fished out a small, slightly smooshed flower from his pocket. He hunched over, crouching low to place the flower on her grave. “Everyone’s still being pricks, everything still sucks, and you’re still dead,” he announced with a small grin. “But have I got news for you today…”

Man, I’m never gonna get used to this cooking thing. Well, it’s not like she ever did any cooking. Oh HELL no. Thinking about tasting her food again makes me wanna cry. It’s more like I can’t get over the fact that no one’s complaining. Aww, Shira’s just a masochistic bastard, isn’t he~ How cute.
Some kid came up to me today, asking for a ride. Then his mum screamed and shit, my ears are still ringing. Got a heavy ass purse to the face and the next I know it, they’re halfway down the street.
Yeah, he’s gonna turn out to be an asshole like mummy dearest. Poor, poor kid.
